I do building maintenance, so I came to this from the cheap phone module side rather than the other way around. What I like: it never needs charging, it wakes up instantly, and the shutterless 25 Hz is a real difference from the module I borrowed last year that used to freeze for two seconds every time it recalibrated. Manual level and span is there, which I did not expect at this price, and that plus the spot measurements is most of what I actually use. It is rated under 50 mK for sensitivity, and at 175 mW it is invisible to the phone battery, I have never seen an hour of scanning move it more than a percent or two. Where it falls short is detail. On walls, doors, ducts and cold lines it is more than adequate, anything bigger than a couple of pixels reads fine. On a control board or a small valve the target is one or two pixels wide and I do not trust a number that comes off that, so for that kind of work I still borrow a higher resolution camera. The app is also busier than it needs to be and the printed guide is thin, it took me a few sessions to work out the difference between the scene presets and manual mode. I am not returning it. For the price I have not found anything that holds up this well, and the included Lightning adapter means it works on my own phone as well as the work one.
