Had water come in through the ceiling this winter so I got the cam to check for hot spots and cold spots with insulation. This worked perfectly for highlighting insulation issues and areas where pipes were running hotter than they were supposed to. Image is crisp, fast, and responsive so I’d recommend it

I ordered this to use around the house for any sort of heat related purposes. I was impressed with how simple it is to use, and how useful the information is. The best part is that it tells you the maximum temperature, the minimum temperature, and the temperature in the center crosshair. This is great for telling how well a refrigerator or freezer is working, like I did at the restaurant I work at, or for finding heating/cooling inefficiencies around the house.Getting it away from the kids is the real trick, because they find it to be fascinating and fun. My kids love this little unit and want to do all sorts of STEM activities with it. They were intrigued that they could see their handprints on the wall and footprints on the floor.This is an almost necessary household tool in 2026, and especially if you have kids. This unit guarantees hours of enjoyment for any age, not to mention its practical applications. Being USB-C rechargeable also makes it very handy. The battery lasts a really long time!Overall, I think this is a great tool and worth the cost!

As soon as this arrived, we charged it up and immediately started walking around the house testing random things with it. The thermal image quality was much better than I expected, and it was really easy to figure out. [Literally a no-brainer.] Honestly, the whole family got a kick out of using it. At one point we even turned off the lights just for the heck of it and aimed it at the floor where we had been standing. You could actually see the heat left behind from our footprints after stepping away, which was pretty crazy to see in real time.Beyond just being fun to play with, it also seems genuinely useful for checking around windows, vents, and electronics. We live in an old farm house and we’re in the middle of renovating, and immediately we could see where heat is leaking in, in our bedroom.The screen is clear, the controls are very simple, and it works exactly as expected. Overall, it has been a really neat tool to have around the house and definitely sparked a lot of curiosity the first night we used it. My husband has been talking a tool like this for some time, so it’s cool that we finally have one.
